MODENA Shows Support for Vocational Education, Presents Kitchen Studio at Multimedia Nusantara University

Jakarta, Indonesia - As one of the leading home appliance brands in the country, MODENA continues to support education and human resource development in Indonesia. This time, MODENA collaborates with Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) by presenting the MODENA-UMN Kitchen Studio which is placed in the Lab Area of the D3 Hospitality program, PK.Ojong - Jakob Oetama UMN building for students to use.

“The procurement of these facilities is part of the MODENA Campus to Campus program which has been running since 2018. This activity is indeed based on supporting tourism and hospitality education in Indonesia,” said Bagus Prastowo, Director of MODENA. "With the support for vocational education, it is hoped that it can help create excellent human resources in the hospitality and culinary fields that are highly competitive."

MODENA-UMN Kitchen Studio aims to accommodate the teaching and learning process at Multimedia Nusantara University, especially in the "Food Processing" course. In this Kitchen Studio, students can use modern kitchen equipment from MODENA which is expected to broaden their horizons and knowledge in the field of cooking professionally. In addition to providing facilities, MODENA will of course also support students to hone their cooking skills by presenting webinars and cooking demos. The guest chefs from MODENA Culinaria will also provide classes and sessions with quality and interesting learning activities.

Andrey Andoko as Vice-Chancellor II of Multimedia Nusantara University added, “The collaboration between UMN and MODENA is not only through providing facilities but also through experienced chefs within the industry. This is a result of industry support for education by bringing practitioners to teach in order to create skilled human resources,” he said.

The launching of MODENA-UMN Kitchen Studio was held on June 17, 2022, with a tumpeng ceremony by Bagus Prastowo and Andrey. The highlight of the event was the cooking demo presented by Chef Christo Tjahjanto, the resident Chef of MODENA Culinaria who is also one of the finalists of MasterChef Indonesia Season 6.

“Our support for education does not end here. Currently, we are also collaborating with Dignityku school for a cooking training program for students with disabilities to produce skilled and ready-to-work human resources. Also, of course, we have also planned the construction of MODENA Kitchen Studio in other vocational campuses in Indonesia,” concludes Bagus.
