5 Ways to Make Your Fridge Last Longer

The fridge is one of the most essential appliances in your home. Although the fridge itself can last long, there are some things you need to know to make your fridge even more durable and able to work optimally.

1. Place your fridge where it belongs

The optimum placement for your fridge away from any heat-emitting appliances, such as stoves or ovens. With hot appliances nearby, your fridge needs to work much harder than usual and this may cause the engine to break down faster.

2. Do not store hot food inside your fridge

To avoid compressor damage, it is better to wait for the food temperature to cool down before storing it in the fridge. Hot items will impact the engine to work harder in order to lower the temperature quickly.

3. Avoid closing and opening the fridge too often

This makes a lot of bacteria from outside air enter the fridge. Also, avoid opening the fridge for too long as this will force the appliance to work hard to maintain a cool temperature. And make sure the container is closed tightly too!

4. Place Water Bottles in Fridge

You can do this hack if you have an empty area inside your fridge. Water bottles can help maintain cold temperature, therefore easing the strain on the fridge’s radiator.

5. Inspect Religiously

Do not overlook regular maintenance to make sure the compressor and all the functions of your refrigerator are still working optimally. Schedule a consultation with MODENA technician by contacting the number below.
